As promised, I’m back with the next delicious mouthfuls from the fun Daawat-E-Ishq Food Yatra that next-gen heartthrobs Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapoor are currently on.

Remember how Aditya, in true stud fashion, rode into the sunrise with his girl Parineeti yesterday? So, on the way to Parsi Da Dhaba one picturesque spot in Palghar really caught their fancy – a bright green little dalealong the road, with a quiet stream flowing right through it. The perfect spot to soak in some serenity!A green and serene pit stop to admire the beauty of nature!

Just as well, ‘cos the rest of the day was anything but serene! First came the lunch at Parsi Da Dhaba where Aditya gorged on his favourite Chicken Dhansak and even got some packed to send back home to Mumbai! Parineeti tried the Salli Boti and the Patranu Machhi, but settled down with the Chicken Curry Rice and licked it clean! Alas, no Doodh Puff left for the day, a regular grouse I have with this place 😦

Just a few of the delicious things at Parsi da Dhaba

Off to Surat! Nearly 150 kms of asphalt fell by, as did some of the energy reserves from the morning. At a quick ‘Highway Chai’ pit stop, Parineeti got some me-time and lay down on one of the Khaats at the dhaba, quietly staring up at the sky, saying a silent ‘Thank you’ to the one above for getting her on this amazing road trip.

Surat was ready with open arms! Fans got wind of the Food Yatra and gathered in a crowd of about 600-strong at the Shri Balaji Janta Icecream, one of THE places to visit when in Surat. It got so crowded that cops were called in to maintain order! In all this hullabaloo, one of the cars from the cavalcade lost its way and landed up several miles outside the city. But a wide-eyed fan made an offer you couldn’t refuse – directions back to the city for a photo-op with the stars! Trust the Gujjus to strike a good bargain 😉

Surat comes to the party!

Surat comes to the party!

The journey to Ahmedabad, another 300 kms of the smooth-as-a-dream National Highway 8, was long and largely uneventful except when one of the drivers said he was feeling sleepy…That sent everyone into panic mode! But while others started chattering and flapping about, our smart boy, Fever 104 FM RJ Glen started playing some really trippy Yo Yo Honey Singh music and things were back on track 😉

It was close to 3 am when the party arrived in Ahmedabad, tired and sleepy and craving for a clean bed. Which is exactly what Regenta Hotel offered, with a lavish breakfast thrown in the next morning for anyone who was awake. And guess who was? Glen of course! And he must have polished off at least 30 portions of breakfast with Chhole, Fafdaa, Paneer Paratha and what not!

The biggest eater of them all – RJ Glen of Fever 104 FM

The saner guys, (read everyone else!) surfaced only around lunch, and headed straight to Vishala, where a feast awaited them. Huge Gujarati Thaalis were laid out, with 10 people waiting on each table, fussing over you, spoiling you silly with every conceivable veg preparation, a variety of Rotis and dessert, and cool, cool Chhaas to wash it all down!Gujarat on a plate at Vishala Vishala's Thaalis are as massive as delicious!

And now it’s off to the Pink City… Jaipur, get ready for a starry night and some big Bhukkads! And there just might be a musical surprise in store for the party as they land 😉 😉

Daawat-E-Ishq releases next Friday, 19th September.
