Finally it’s happened!

Bollywood has woken up to the need of the hour, the need to pander to the food obsession that seems to have taken a hold of the whole country. But what’s more interesting is HOW it’s happening.

The vehicle is a romantic movie called Daawat-E-Ishq, from the house of Yashraj Films… yes, the same guys who pretty much taught us what romance is, and can be, and have taken ordinary little everyday moments and made them extraordinary on screen, making you sigh dreamily, gasp in delight, or wipe off tears of joy! SRK fans will know what I’m talking about when I just say 2 words… ”Aur paas” 😉 Coupled with feisty ‘n fun Parineeti Chopra, and cool ‘n intense Aditya Roy Kapoor, this romance promises to be ‘a mouth-watering one’, every morsel of it!

The beginning of the mouth-watering love story between Parineeti and Aditya 😉

The stars take a closer look at what’s on the Eaten Path!

But wait… there’s more! These two bindaas actors are not just great at what they do, they also absolutely LOVE food! So its kind of a karmic connection when they decide to take off on a road trip, in a cavalcade of nearly 20 cars winding through the highways and by-ways of different cities, to try out for themselves the amazing and unique local food that this country has to offer… and it starts right here with Follow The Eaten Path!

When food does the romancing…

Mad Mad RJ Glenn and the girls!

So, very early this morning, the Food Yatra kick-started at Cafe Madras, one of the holy shrines for breakfast in the city, with Parineeti and Aditya chowing down some piping-hot Vada Sambar and Idli Butter Pudi (one of the waiters proudly declared this last was actor Dhanush‘s favourite dish!). And then on my shameless coaxing, and egged on by RJ Glen from Fever 104 FM who is going to be the fly-on-the-wall for this trip, some rich and crisp Butter Dosa and spicy n fluffy Set Dosa got devoured too! Very impressive appetite, I must say 🙂 A few exchanges of favourite recipes, and a few steel mugs of frothy ‘South Indian Kaapi’ later, Parineeti and Aditya strapped on their helmets, hopped on to a massive, shiny black Royal Enfield bike and rode away into the sunrise… or rather towards their next stop Parsi Da Dhaba, a good 3 hours drive from the heart of Mumbai!

Wanna know what happens next on this Food Yatra? You can follow the journey live on Twitter and Facebook on the links below, and tune into Fever 104 FM Mumbai for some mad updates from ‘Mad Mad’ Glenn. But if you want to relish every delightful mouthful of this trippy food trip, come back here tomorrow! I promise you a tasty dish right here, every day, for the next 5 days!

So… ready to go food-tripping with me?

Daawat-E-Ishq releases next Friday, 19th September.
